It’s here! Monday begins our annual Vacation Bible School and we are so excited! This year our theme is Monumental: Celebrating God’s Greatness. Over 50 children from our church, and our community will be filling the halls of McLaurin next week to learn that:
God loves you no matter what. God is with you everywhere. God is in charge. God is stronger than anything. God is surprising!
As our children learn these core truths about God love, power and plans for our lives, they will also be memorizing scriptures: Psalm 89:2 – “Your unfailing love will last forever” Joshua 1:9 – “For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” Psalm 147:5 – “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute!” Romans 8:38 – “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love” Psalm 66:5 – “Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people”.
And that is our biggest prayer this week–that God’s love will be evident as our church shines the light of Jesus Christ into the Edmonton community. This is an event that truly takes the entire church working together to shine brightly in a dark world. And what we need most of all now are your prayers. Here’s what we’d like for you to be pray about:
*Our volunteers–That they be filled with the Holy Spirit and with energy, grace, and compassion as they lead, care for, and share Jesus with children from our community. *Children attending–That their hearts will be open to God, and that they will hear and understand God’s love for them given through His Son, Jesus. *Parents/Guardians of children attending– Children can often be a great witness in their parents’ lives. Pray that parents who do not know Jesus will be drawn to Him through VBS. *Our Church Family –The entire church family has been praying and many have volunteered and given of their resources to make sure VBS will be a wonderful event. Pray for unity, perseverance, energy and the spirit of generosity to continue.
